Caroline Appointed to Department for Work and Pensions as Junior Minister

Caroline has been appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the DWP.

Caroline Nokes, Member of Parliament for Romsey and Southampton North, has been appointed as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Department for Work and Pensions as part of a reshuffle by new Prime Minister Theresa May.

Caroline said:

I am honoured and delighted to have been asked to serve as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Department for Work and Pensions. 

 Having previously been a Parliamentary Private Secretary in the DWP I look forward to being able to hit the ground running in my new role.

 I will, of course, continue to be just as available to my constituents while carrying out my additional duties in the Department.”

Further details of Caroline’s specific responsibilities in the department will be announced in due course.

Caroline was elected as Members of Parliament for Romsey and Southampton North in 2010 and re-elected in 2015 with a greatly increased majority.

Caroline has previously served on the Education Select Committee and the Environmental Audit Committee and as a PPS in the Department for Work and Pensions and most recently the Department for Transport.

Caroline has also served as the Chair of the Speakers Committee on Works of Art.

She consistently appears in the top 10 ‘most responsive’ of all 650 Members of Parliament on the My Society league table.
