I know many are looking forward to the return to school next week, and I was pleased to receive information from several local schools about the precautions they have put in place to make their premises as covid secure as possible. Some remain worried, but the advice has been very clear about the importance of young people resuming their studies.
Whilst Parliament also formally returns next week that does not mean I have had a six week holiday, or staycation. This week I have visited a number of local businesses and organisations, including the Starlight Trampoline and Gymnastics Club on the Romsey Industrial Estate. I was stunned by just how bouncy a proper trampoline is, much more so than the garden variety. They are one of the finalists in the Persimmon Homes Building Futures competition and you can vote for them to receive a significant cash grant at www.persimmonhomes.com/building-futures/finalists but you do have to keep scrolling down on that page to find them!
It seems odd at this time of year not to be looking forward to Romsey Show or the Food Festival. So many brilliant local events have had to be cancelled or postponed, which is such a sad loss. However I remain optimistic they will all be back next year and at some point we will be able to put 2020 and Covid behind us.
