The thank you event for supporters of Mountbatten Hampshire, held at Broadlands last weekend, was absolutely lovely. The sunflowers were everywhere, a cheerful reminder of the great work the hospice does. Even the rain held off, and although the sun might not have shone, it was dry.
This week I have met a number of women thinking about standing for Parliament at the next election. I always try to encourage female candidates, whatever their party, Parliament is better for having more diversity, and I have seen it change significantly even just over the last 13 years.
Sewage has been on the agenda, with another meeting, alongside Cllr Nick Adams-King to discuss the charges Aster is levying on some of those living in former Aster properties. There is clearly a long way to go before a solution is found, but long term tankering from some of their defunct treatment facilities is wholly unsustainable.
I have been back to Westminster this week, to catch up with the team there. Even though it is recess the work does not stop!
