I can't quite believe it is December already, but the Christmas lights are on in Romsey and the town is looking very beautiful. Last week's lights switch on event, the Winter Carnival and Lantern Parade was wonderful and the town was absolutely rammed. A huge thank you to all who make it possible.
In Parliament this week I hosted an event for the Migraine Trust, talking about the stigma that still surrounds the condition. For the last 15 years or so I have had my migraines pretty much under control, but it was moving to hear from those who have suffered much more than I ever have.
There was also a great event with Cats Protection, promoting their Lifeline service, which I spoke at. Alongside their giant cat I was highlighting the importance of a service which finds foster families for cats whose owners have been victims of domestic abuse. There are many barriers which prevent victims from leaving their abusers and fears of what will happen to pets can contribute to the decision. Cats Protection is now rolling out their service more widely across the country and thereby supporting more victims.
