This week has seen a number of menopause related events, including the 1st Birthday Party of Menopause Mandate and a great event in Parliament.
But on Wednesday I was also a key note speaker at an event hosted by the Institute of Government and Public Policy. Back in January the Women and Equalities Committee received the long delayed Government response to our report on Menopause in the Work Place. It is fair to say we were disappointed with the response. But the DWP did grasp the recommendation around appointing a workplace menopause champion, and I was really pleased to share a platform with Helen Tomlinson who has recently been appointed to that role.
I am looking forward to working with her, and brilliant champions like Dame Lesley Regan, the Women's Health Ambassador, to keep pushing the message that women need more help to get through adverse menopause experiences.
