The water outages affecting Romsey and Southampton North are deeply concerning, and the disruption they’ve caused is unacceptable. While I acknowledge the efforts Southern Water has made to address the issue quickly, residents should not have to face such failures, especially at this time of year.
Tomorrow, I will be meeting with Southern Water alongside other local government leaders, and I will be making it clear that this situation cannot be allowed to happen again. It is unacceptable that our community has been let down once more, and so close to Christmas.
I am urging Southern Water to prioritise restoring water supplies and to ensure that bottled water stations are accessible to all those affected. Residents deserve better, and I will continue to push for accountability and improvements.
