It was fantastic to visit BAE Systems last week to hear how the importance of a diverse and inclusive workforce has been embraced and to hear of their commitment to making sure their recruitment strategy drew upon the widest possible pool of talent. Their apprentices highlighted the value they placed on the flexible working structures and commitment the company had to supporting them through their training. I very much hope to see them join the 14 FTSE 100 companies already publishing their ethnicity pay gap next year.
