This week I hosted a round table for some of the country’s leading domestic abuse charities and TSB to hear about the impact of the cost of living crisis on victims of domestic abuse, and the specific steps TSB is taking to help them.
We heard from Women’s Aid, Hestia, Surviving Economic Abuse about the dramatic increase in victims making contact and using both on-line safe spaces and needing physical safe spaces. TSB has launched a range of pilots to help victims counter the economic challenges associated with domestic abuse, including their pioneering £500 flee fund, a pilot with Women’s Aid enabling female victims to open bank accounts without the standard paperwork, and also an online portal to help provide advice and assistance.
