One of the UK’s leading small animal hospitals has earned praise from the MP for Romsey and Southampton North following a guided tour of the state-of-the-art veterinary centre.
Caroline Nokes MP visited Linnaeus-owned Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists, in Winchester, to take a behind-the-scenes tour of the multi-disciplinary hospital.
The Conservative parliamentarian was shown around by Anderson Moores hospital director Matt Gurney and is the second MP to visit the referral centre in just over six months, following the visit of Winchester and Chandler’s Ford MP Steve Brine and his dog Monty at the end of last year.
Ms Nokes, who has been a member of parliament for 13 years, said: “It was wonderful to visit Anderson Moores and meet the talented team there who are so obviously dedicated to providing the best possible care for pets across Hampshire and the south of England.
“I had heard great things about Anderson Moores but the size of the hospital and the quality of care shown by their team was truly impressive.
“The UK is a nation of animal lovers. Our pets are much more than just animals – they are part of the family. Just like our family members, when our pets are ill, we want the best possible medical care for them and it was wonderful to see first-hand the difference the team at Anderson Moores are making.”
The MP, who served as Minister of State for Immigration in Theresa May’s Government between January 2018 and July 2019, was greeted by Anderson Moores clinical director Matt, who introduced her to the team and guided her around the hospital’s cutting-edge facilities.
Ms Nokes also visited Anderson Moores’ woodland walk, an idyllic outdoor space created as part of the hospital’s sustainability ambitions, which both clients and patients can enjoy, along with team members who want to enjoy some mindful downtime.
Matt, an RCVS and European specialist in veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia, said: “We were delighted to welcome Caroline to Anderson Moores.
“She was very impressed with our facilities and took the time to speak to a number of our team members, learning more about the industry-leading treatments and services we offer here.”
Anderson Moores offers specialist care in anaesthesia and analgesia, cardiology, dentistry, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, emergency and critical care, feline hyperthyroid clinic, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery.
