It is not lost on me that today is Friday 13th, and whilst I am not given much to superstition it seems a pretty grim time in the world. I spent last weekend on the edge of the de-militarised zone in Cyprus, at a ceremony to mark the 1974 Turkish occupation of Northern Cyprus.

It has taken the best part of a week for my feet to recover from Walking the Test Way last Sunday with Romsey Rotary and over 500 other intrepid walkers. The sun shone for most of it, but the dismal weather at the start did mean we were all dragging our wet weather gear down the Valley.
